The DBT Apex Biotechnology Information Centre (BTIC) is located at International Centre for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (ICGEB), New Delhi. The centre coordinates and helps BTISNet nodes by providing training in latest techniques in bioinformatics, mentors and maintain their databases, web-servers and software/tools developed with the Department of Biotechnology (DBT, GoI) fundings. The centre aims to serve as a vital resource for the researchers working in life sciences and computational biology.
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is an area of multidisciplinary machine intelligence which has immense potential to provide solutions for classification problems in various fields of modern biology- healthcare, medicine, environment, agriculture, to name a few. The workshop is intended to train coordinators, bioinformatics centre staff, post-doctoral fellows and students in bioinformatics (preferably linked to DBT BTISNet centres), who wish to apply Artificial Intelligence and Machine learning in their research.
